The base of my shampoo is a blend of Hydrosol waters, 2 mild cleansers, Sodium Alginate (derived from seaweed, a unique hydrating and thickening ingredient) silk and oat proteins help to strengthen and smooth hair, Panthenol and vitamins nourish the scalp and hair.
Because this formula is water based it must include a preservative to keep nasties from growing inside!
This shampoo is VERY mild and gentle and can be used every day, it contains no sulfates, and no alcohol. Its rich & creamy, extra kind to your scalp and hair.
ENHANCED WITH MY FAVORITE ESSENTIAL OIL BLEND: Pink Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Litsea Fruit, Mandarin, Sweet Orange Peel.
Citrus Essentials oil have the property of assisting in the absorption of the vitamins which are included in a formula. I load up my shampoo with a slew of them and just the right amount of essential oils.
Hydrosol waters, or "floral waters", can be made by boiling plant material in water and collecting the condensed water vapor which now contains very very dilute essential oils.
Ingredients: * Witch Hazel hydrosol water, *Helichrysum hydrosol water, *Tea Tree hydrosol water, *Rosemary hydrosol water, decyl glucoside, lauryl glucoside, vegetable glycerin, sodium alginate, amber extract, (gluten free) oat protein, silk amino acids, panthenol DL, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, lactic acid, propanediol (naturally derived preservative), ethylhexylglycerin (naturally derived preservative), and potassium sorbate (food grade preservative). *(ORGANIC)
DIRECTIONS: Wash, Rinse, Repeat if necessary, follow with my Citrus Bliss Conditioner.
Hard water interferes with the ability to completely rinse soap from your hair. Occasionally rinsing your hair with diluted vinegar after washing will remove residue and build-up from your hair. Dilute 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in 1 cup of water. Saturate your hair and allow to sit for a few minutes. Rinse and follow with your favorite conditioner.
In my quest to create a really great shampoo I spent a lot of time experimenting and consulting with experts. As far as cosmetic chemistry goes, shampoo is a tough nut to crack Some variation from batch to batch can be expected. Separation is normal, due to the use of minimal amounts of emulsifiers combined with the action of the citrus essential oils. A quick shake will redistribute ingredients.
